SAFETY TIP
21% of all injuries occur within 90 days of hire, according to CBR's internal statistics.
This indicates a need for improved training of new workers and better supervision during those 90 days.

Training and Supervision:

Keys to a Successful Safety Program

hr training and supervisionInjuries occur because of unsafe conditions and/or unsafe acts, 98% of which are preventable. However, if no one is trained to recognize those hazards, and no one is trained to protect against those hazards, then the risk remains high. How safe are your workers? Are your managers/supervisors/foremen trained to recognize jobsite hazards and correct the unsafe conditions or unsafe acts? Training and supervision are critical, and CBR provides resources to help you manage those risks. Consider attending CBR's monthly Safety Webinars (available live and online), and consider providing training such as OSHA 30 for your managers/supervisors/ foremen. (Look for low cost training opportunities in this newsletter!)

Interested in OSHA 30 Training?

Some have expressed interest in OSHA 30 training, and it is an excellent way to more fully train and certify safety managers, foremen and supervisors.  If there is interest, CBR will make that training available to our clients at a very reduced cost.  OSHA 30 is a 30-hour comprehensive safety training program for construction and general industry, and is often required by general contractors.   This training includes Fall Protection, which is currently the hottest item on OSHA’s “hit list!”

Did You Know?

Safety budgets (if they exist!) are often the first place cuts are made when a company is "going lean." Yet, accidents and injuries typically dig into a company's profit margin more deeply than most other expenditures. When "going lean," count the costs before cutting safety! (Attend CBR's Safety Seminar to find out why!)
